BUSINESS MANAGER – Alabama, Florida, Mississippi, or Remote Location

Position Summary

RMC Research has a remote full-time opening for a Business Manager. The position requires engaging in all aspects of office and contract management for the Tampa office which provides education research, technical assistance, and consulting services.

Responsibilities

  • Support management of complex projects through the full life cycle by developing and tracking components of project operations including contract management, billable hour forecasting, and budget;
  • Prepare and analyze internal and external monthly reports that summarize the project status and financial position;
  • Process and track office financial accounts, including managing and processing invoices;
  • Use custom Excel templates to develop project budgets and produce monthly summaries, assist project directors with budget management, and prepare semiannual corporate budgets;
  • Manage project contracts and requests for modifications;
  • Work independently and collaboratively with diverse key stakeholders (technical project staff, researchers, internal business departments, external consultants, subcontractors, and client representatives) to successfully execute project work;
  • Monitor the electronic timekeeping system and process bimonthly timesheets;
  • Process expense vouchers, monitor office expenses, maintain bank account, and other general bookkeeping tasks;
  • Coordinate the preparation of cost proposals, and proposal submissions for prospective contracts;
  • Maintain Tampa office human resources records, serve as liaison to the corporate human resources office, and provide new staff orientation;
  • Supervise support staff and manage support staff tasks;
  • Maintain office equipment, supplies, and services;
  • Provide technology support in collaboration with the corporate office IT team (includes maintaining and troubleshooting hardware, software, and network systems, providing training);
  • Oversee office safety procedures and serve as liaison to office building management; and
  • Provide support for general office tasks as needed.

Your Skills, Education, and Previous Experience

  • An Associate or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration is preferred; however, equivalent years of experience and certification programs also considered;
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar position; and
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, communications software (e.g., Zoom), and other office tools.

Compensation/Benefits

Anticipated starting salary range is $50,000 to $60,000, annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
