RMC Research just completed the external evaluation for the Arizona Mathematics Partnership (AMP), a 5-year targeted Mathematics and Science Partnership project funded by the National Science Foundation and led by Scottsdale Community College in conjunction with Chandler-Gilbert and Glendale Community Colleges. One exciting product developed by RMC Research and AMP leadership is a sustainability toolkit that helps organizations gauge the state of mathematics education in a particular school. Driven by the question Other than district and state assessments, how do schools self-reflect? the toolkit constructs a holistic view of a school’s mathematics environment through the inclusion of the perspectives of students, teachers, and administrators gathered via interviews, focus groups, third party observations, and teacher surveys in addition to state assessment results. The result is everything mathematics related in one tidy report.
