REL Central Native American Education Research Alliance Update

RMC Research facilitates the Native American Education Research Alliance (NAERA), initiated in 2012 after stakeholders identified the need for collaborative solutions to problems facing American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) students in the REL Central region. Since that time, the NAERA has made important strides toward addressing issues such as AI/AN student achievement in reading and mathematics, early childhood education, vocabulary acquisition, teacher recruitment and retention, culture-based education, intergenerational trauma, and effective community engagement. Most recently, REL Central released a What’s Happening report titled, “Where American Indian students go to school: Enrollment in seven central region states”. This report is pivotal in guiding discussions about how the use of AI language and culture can support AI student success. More information is available about the report at this link:
