Partnership for Graduation Initiative Program Evaluation for Portland Public Schools (HSGI)

RMC Research is evaluating a 5-year grant awarded to Portland Public Schools under the U.S. Department of Education’s High School Graduation Initiative. The funded project serves academic priority students in Grades 6 through 12 at 9 middle schools and 2 high schools in Portland, Oregon.

Washington Reading Corps Impact Evaluation

Project Director: Lauren Maxim, Ph.D.

Agency: Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction, State of Washington

RMC Research directs the implementation and impact evaluation of Washington Reading Corps, an AmeriCorps tutoring program implemented in partnership by the Washington Office of Public Instruction, Washington Service Corps, and the Washington Employment Security Department. The Washington Reading Corps provides small group and one-on-one tutoring in foundational reading skills to struggling readers from pre-Kindergarten through 6th grade.

GEAR UP (Portland Public Schools)

Project Director: Bonnie Faddis, Ph.D.

Agency: Portland Public Schools

RMC Research assisted with the evaluation of Portland Public Schools’ GEAR UP grant. RMC Research enhanced a database developed for the High School Graduation Initiative grant awarded to Portland Public Schools by the U.S. Department of Education, input data provided by the district quarterly, and provided database training and access to district staff.

Safe Schools/Healthy Students National Evaluation 2010-2012

Agency: MANILA Consulting Group, Inc.

RMC Research, under 2 consecutive contracts beginning in 2005, teamed with MANILA Consulting Group and Battelle Centers for Public Health Research and Evaluation to conduct the national evaluation of the Safe Schools/Healthy Students Initiative, a federal grant program that supports communities and schools to improve the safety and well-being of students through the integration of the education, mental health, social services, law enforcement, and juvenile justice systems at the local level.

Northwest Comprehensive Center

Project Director: Dave Weaver, M.S.

Agency: Education Northwest

RMC Research partnered with Education Northwest to operate the Northwest Regional Comprehensive Center (NWRCC), a project funded by the U.S. Department of Education to provide technical assistance to the states of Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming in support of their efforts to meet the requirements of the federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act.
